Technology's Impact on Teaching

Image
In my early years of teaching, information was primarily accessed through textbooks and physical resources like encyclopedias. Today, students have the entire wealth of human knowledge at their fingertips through the internet. This has transformed the way I teach and the way students learn. One of the biggest ways technology has impacted my work is through the integration of digital tools in the classroom. Interactive whiteboards, online learning platforms, and educational apps have made lessons more engaging and interactive. Students can now engage with content in ways that were not possible before, such as through simulations, virtual field trips, and real-time collaboration. Technology has also made it easier for me to communicate with students and their parents. I can now use email, messaging apps, and online portals to share information, answer questions, and provide feedback more efficiently. This has improved communication and collaboration between teachers, students, an...

Math is a Human Language

Image
In his TEDxManhattanBeach talk, "Math Isn't Hard, It's a Language," Randy Palisoc makes a convincing argument that math is not inherently difficult. He emphasizes in his introduction that 26% of people are proficient in Math. He thinks that this percentage could be higher if we teach Mathematics as a humanized version for everyone, which I agree with his opening statement to the video. In the video, 3 divided chapters directly hit the points of the topic.  Chapter 1: Math is a language Palisoc likens math to other languages such as English or Spanish, pointing out that all languages have their unique grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. He explains that math has its own rules and symbols that we need to learn to communicate effectively using it. As I further listened to his discussion of Math being a language, I truly laughed at the humor he puts in when you don’t understand Math. It is just like another foreign language for us when we’re having a hard time figuring it...

Solve Problems related to Work

Image
How do you solve problems related to work activities? Giving assessments to the students is one of my problems as a teacher. I should consider many aspects to make sure that my assessments are relevant for the students, and connected to the objectives. I solved this kind of problem through 3 effective skills: Be Updated . It doesn’t necessarily mean that you keep scrolling on social media, give yourself time to be curious about what’s trend, or do proper research about what’s going on around the country, and in the world. Being updated on the trend helps me think of creative ideas to make my students interested in the lesson, and activities. Thorough research . There is so much information scattered on different internet platforms. By researching thoroughly, we can ensure the factual information we can get. Being a thorough researcher, helps me see the authenticity of the information and facts that I can share with the class.  Spark interest . Learning is not hard for the st...

ACHIEVABLE DREAM

Image
“You have to have a dream, whether big or small. Then plan, focus, work hard, and be very determined to achieve your goals," this quote is according to Henry Sy. He leaves his legacy inspiring many people, including those who aspire to become like him. Leaving us that inspirational quote that implies dreaming is working on it, and not just keeping it just like a dream. Let's chop down that quote from Henry Sy, that makes an impact in the industry today! "You have to have a dream, whether big or small..." Part of this quote is really important to achieve your goals. Dreams without goals are just a dream, and Goals without dreams are just a to-do list. A person needs to have that desire to dream, for him to attain the greatest award for his life. He should learn how to plan for it; focus on it; work hard for it; and have the determination to achieve that goal. "Plan for it!" Planning your dreams to attain them is hard. Sometimes it's not according to ...

A LONELY TEACHER

Image
Little did you know, I have quiet battles. I struggle to create lesson plans for today. I give up extra hours to research for the discussions. I stayed up all night to prepare for the instructional materials. And do it all over again if I think these wouldn't work for tomorrow. I'm sorry if I didn't accomplish one of my objectives in the lesson plan. Maybe our time wouldn't fit for today. I'm sorry if some information in the discussions is wrong. Maybe I clicked on the wrong site because I was very sleepy at that time. I'm sorry if my materials are not as beautiful as you wanted them to be. Maybe I needed some help but I'm doing it all alone. Don't worry, the teacher will try to maximize everything in our short period, just to accomplish our objectives. Don't worry, next time the teacher will be conscious of the information I click, and manage my time so I won't be sleepy most of the time. Don't worry, the teacher will do my materials creat...
